Ravan Pacheco,
A real eye opener for change…This is a well written and a great first reads by a talented author。 It is a real eye opener! I believe every individual in and out of law enforcement will be better for reading this author’s book。 I highly recommend。 I would say more about this book but judge for yourself。 Plus I don’t want to introduce any spoilers 😀
Carla Liermann,
Quite a story。 You can feel all the emotion of trying to find your roots when you’ve been adopted。 All the secrets and the mystery inner twined in the story make it a good read。
Donna Gooding,
Great readThis was the first book I read by this author。 Loved all the twist and turns 。 Had me on the edge of my sit。
Mr Mark Hawksford,
Say her name -This my first read free book this month and not my normal choice of reading。 However, I really enjoyed it。 What happened to Hope and 3 other missing woman。 A daughter trying to find out what happened to her birth Mum。 Confused about who to trust, the man who bought her up or her new found blood father, a police commander and her half sister。 You’ll be thinking one thing and then changing your mind。 This has a proper ending and is actually quite emotional to read。 I enjoyed the book Say her name -This my first read free book this month and not my normal choice of reading。 However, I really enjoyed it。 What happened to Hope and 3 other missing woman。 A daughter trying to find out what happened to her birth Mum。 Confused about who to trust, the man who bought her up or her new found blood father, a police commander and her half sister。 You’ll be thinking one thing and then changing your mind。 This has a proper ending and is actually quite emotional to read。 I enjoyed the book and would give it 4。75 out 5。 。。。more

Interesting!Such a good story line and a book that makes you take stock。 The ending fits as sell。 The main character should become a detective!!!
Christine di Ciacca,
Nail bitingNail biting story。 Enjoyed this book immensely didn’t put it down until I finished it。 Definitely recommended a real good read。
Bryan Tillman,
A Worthy WarThis is not an easy story with cute and witty characters; it's a full-on war replete with clever subterfuge, crushing despair and outright brutality。The underlying basis is the monstrous reality that people of color, and especially women of color have to fight desperately to matter when they most need it。Watching Eva wage her war is annoying and infuriating with snatches of satisfaction, but tempered when keeping in mind the unavoidable impact of her horrific beginnings。The ultimate A Worthy WarThis is not an easy story with cute and witty characters; it's a full-on war replete with clever subterfuge, crushing despair and outright brutality。The underlying basis is the monstrous reality that people of color, and especially women of color have to fight desperately to matter when they most need it。Watching Eva wage her war is annoying and infuriating with snatches of satisfaction, but tempered when keeping in mind the unavoidable impact of her horrific beginnings。The ultimate resolution is worth the struggle and worth the wait。 。。。more

initially slow but eventually riveting I struggled in the early part of the book, but I persevered and eventually it got more and more interesting。 I have a habit of doing that with books, preserving until it all falls together。 I did enjoy Say Her Name。
Monica,
Ok it’s not a literary masterpiece。 Most of the characters aren’t terribly complex。 I didn’t find myself highlighting a ton of passages for their beauty or breathtaking profundity。 Honestly that was, at least in part, because I didn’t want to interrupt the story for even 2 seconds!I did love the passage about how mothers can’t heal everything & sometimes we have to heal ourselves。 We do place undue expectations on our mothers to fix everything, & blame them for whatever insecurities & failings w Ok it’s not a literary masterpiece。 Most of the characters aren’t terribly complex。 I didn’t find myself highlighting a ton of passages for their beauty or breathtaking profundity。 Honestly that was, at least in part, because I didn’t want to interrupt the story for even 2 seconds!I did love the passage about how mothers can’t heal everything & sometimes we have to heal ourselves。 We do place undue expectations on our mothers to fix everything, & blame them for whatever insecurities & failings we cling to as adults。 But it’s still a 4-star read for me because I just didn’t want to out it down! I was forced to by a business trip。 I also deeply appreciated the voice it gives to a very real issue, the attention that society fails to pay to crimes against people who “don’t matter enough。” Be it people of color, indigenous people, or the homeless, it rarely even makes the news。 Or if it does because it’s a slow news day, it fades away quickly。 I predicted some of the plot twists, but not all of them! Definitely a worthwhile read。 。。。more

Mr。 Richard W。 Fulton,
A flipper The story needs to be told。 It is frightening and bringing it out resulting in it becoming a best seller is commendable。 My two rating is given because the background emoticons are presented over and over again。 Just me but I started flipping after this was presented to many times。 I get it。
Toni,
Oh this made me feel some emotions due to the social and racial inequalities in our society。It was an enjoyable thriller, well written。I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in how crimes against people of color can often times go unnoticed, be under investigated, or lack the spotlight some other cases receive。I am looking forward to reading more from this author。Thank you for the ARC ebook。
Luz,
This is an emotionally packed story of the injustices Brown people face all over the world because of skin color。 After so many centuries humans fail to evolve and continue to hate other humans because of skin color, socio-economic status, religion and the list goes on。
Gary Krull,

Unpleasant Subject。。。but unfortunately this has happened, not in this way perhaps, but too often。 The story doesn’t flow as well as it could but the subject holds your attention。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I really enjoyed this to start off with and then I don't know what it was but, suddenly I wasn't as into it。 Maybe it was dragged on slightly too long, or the connections weren't that great。 Like at the end, they kept mentioning a blood sample and I couldn't really place how that connected to everything, maybe that was just me not paying full attention。 Hard debate between 3 and 4 on this one I really enjoyed this to start off with and then I don't know what it was but, suddenly I wasn't as into it。 Maybe it was dragged on slightly too long, or the connections weren't that great。 Like at the end, they kept mentioning a blood sample and I couldn't really place how that connected to everything, maybe that was just me not paying full attention。 Hard debate between 3 and 4 on this one 。。。more

Laurie Richardson,
Excellent and timely topicWow! What a roller coaster ride, there were times I had to slow down may reading and to back to make sure I had read correctly。 Almost too unbelievable to think that women of color were so easily disregarded。。。。until you see the exact same attitude towards missing women across the USA even today。 Such a timely book, and thank you for bringing attention to this painfully true issue that still exists in 2022! Well done Dreda and Ryan, well done。
Jacqueholst,
A revelationSo terribly sad。 The pain, the terror, the crime。 I'm not sure I could handle the sadness of reading this book if it weren't for the ending。 Ultimately justice was served。 A revelationSo terribly sad。 The pain, the terror, the crime。 I'm not sure I could handle the sadness of reading this book if it weren't for the ending。 Ultimately justice was served。 。。。more
Thomas Begley,
Wonderful BookSay Her Name is an excellent book。 Although certain twists wind up an no surprise, the plot and characters are deep。 It also has a gut wrenching message about our need to value all people and the power of the human connection。 An excellent read。
Jacqueline Taylor,
I really enjoyed reading this book。 I got it as an Amazon first read and I couldn’t put it down。 It shed light on the injustices that not just black women but black people face every day in the justice system。 This has been talked about for years and I’m glad that I finally came across a novel that acknowledges exactly what goes on。

Sign me up。 I often find a lot of thrillers to be emotionally detached, but this one really packed a punch with the emotional journey you take with the protagonist。 I think it excellently spun real world issues into a fictitious plot that was easy to follow, consistently paced and engaging。I found the writing to be a little hit and miss at times, but for the most part it served its purpose just fine。 Some of the dialogue and internal monologues were a little bit cringey at times it took me out of the story, but not enough to make me want to stop reading。 There was also a tiny bit of inconsistency with the coping strategies the protagonist uses at the beginning of the book seemingly disappearing a few chapters in。 I liked the discussions it had on identity and belonging, alongside the main thrilling storyline of trying to solve the crime/mystery at it’s heart。 Speaking of, every time I thought I knew where this book was going I was wrong。 The twists and turns got me every single time and my predictions were completely off。 A lot more sinister than I anticipated, but it made for a fun and unpredictable read。There were other tiny pet peeves I had with the story that brought my rating down a little。 There was a side story about her losing her job that was mostly ignored, and her husband appeared to be non-existent for most of the book。 Just tiny things I think if tweaked could’ve made the book a little better and more cohesive。 Opening up multiple avenues of drama just to almost ignore them was a little frustrating。 I enjoyed the ending though and the hope of it all, how it rounded off quite nicely。Overall, this probably would’ve been a 3。5 if Goodreads did half stars。 Definitely a unique thriller with real depth behind it, and wow did that finale have me on edge。 。。。more

Oh dear, this was terrible。 It's such a shame because it had all the potential of a good story and also there were references to some really important things。。。 but it was let down by bad writing。 There was a lot of clunky grammar and dialogue that felt bizarre at times and just unrealistic at others。 But more than that - there were so many factually incorrect parts that I felt more and more annoyed reading it。 I don't understand how a book that had two authors could be so flawed and have so man Oh dear, this was terrible。 It's such a shame because it had all the potential of a good story and also there were references to some really important things。。。 but it was let down by bad writing。 There was a lot of clunky grammar and dialogue that felt bizarre at times and just unrealistic at others。 But more than that - there were so many factually incorrect parts that I felt more and more annoyed reading it。 I don't understand how a book that had two authors could be so flawed and have so many mistakes。 And with things that could be easily checked online with one search。 。。。more

sylvia lux,
Incredible!!Gut-wrenching emotional twists and turns in this mystery and things you never see coming。 I could not put it down。 As a white person, I felt ashamed of my race for the bigotry displayed by the white people in this book。 As a human being, I was horrified by the injustices displayed, and as a woman, unnerved by the lack of respect for women。 This book really opened my eyes, and I will never be the same。 BRAVO Dreda Say Mitchell and Ryan Carter。
